FAQs
What age should my child start swim lessons?
1
Every child is different, but swim lessons are valuable as soon as a child is ready to listen, participate, and begin learning water safety skills. Our coaches can help determine the best starting point based on your child’s comfort level and experience.
Does my child need experience before joining lessons?
2
No. We work with swimmers at different stages, from beginners who are still gaining confidence to swimmers who are ready for stroke development.
What should my swimmer bring?
3
Swimmers should bring a swimsuit, towel, goggles if they are comfortable wearing them, and a positive attitude. Younger swimmers or beginners may not need goggles right away.
Are private lessons better than group lessons?
4
It depends on the swimmer. Group lessons are great for swimmers who learn well with others. Private lessons are better for swimmers who need one-on-one attention, are nervous, or need help with specific skills.
Can lessons help my child get ready for summer league?
5
Yes. Lessons and clinics can be a great way to help swimmers improve strokes, build endurance, and feel more confident before summer league.
How do I know if my child is ready for Wave swim team?
6
If your child can swim independently and is interested in learning more, we recommend scheduling a skills assessment. A coach can help place your swimmer in the right group.
